The Ds lead by the Dali-bama are wasting no time going after guns and gun owners. Nearly everything, including rifle (bolt and semi-auto), pistol and shotgun.

H.R. 6257, The Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008

H.R. 6257 would reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use
Protection Act or back to no guns.

It is a despicable bill, but it wasn't just submitted upon the election of Obama.
The first version was in June of 2008 and the most recent version was in July, 2008. It never should see the light of day!

Regardless of the submission date, we must fight this bill with all we have. The Dems aren't stupid. They know that elections are coming up in two years and that any anti-gun legislation is a 'poison pill.' I'm sure the Schumers, Feinsteins and the like don't get it as they wear logical blinders when it comes to RKBA, but most of the others understand that they can lose if they vote for this bill.

The avalanche will probably start in the States. I do not look forward to the Colorado 2009 Legislative session.

"California has that kind of law. Why shouldn't we?" (Not really a quote, but a distillation of the attitudes that will help the avalanche along.)

Aside: "DalaiBama." LOL !

1) Old news.

2) This was introduced by a Republican and has only Republican cosponsors on it.

They want to control the population and allow gun rights, for responsible people.

I have been reading it is very hard to keep them away from the criminal who wants one but the person who is law abidding will give them up Hmmmmm So what is the answer? Make them available to all

Regards

I for one plan to write to my house rep and ask that the bill pass. It seems so few here are willing to fight, so I might as well join the grabbers...

Just for the sake of clarity, Apendix A is the exception list. Not that I want to see this pass, but I made that mistake the first time I saw this, and want to make sure everyone speaks accurately on the subject.

AHEM! Sounds a lot like "reasonable" gun control to me.
