Lausanne Gunshow (Switzerland)

As a friend of mine, from texas, asked me to take some pictures, I thought it would be a good idea to share them here with you !

As it happends every year in December, la "bourse aux armes de Lausanne" (Lausanne Gunshow) take place in the Palais of Beaulieu, for 3 days !

I went to the 1st day, and bought a nice , like new SiGP225 for 360$.. I wanted to buy more things this year, but a 800$ order last week for my Mk12 clone ate my budget...

Here are some pictures of this event

Yes.. this is a real flame thrower... from the Swiss Army.. legally sold, functionning. no permit required

and my friend beautiful new bought SiG552 !!!

Switzerland, still a country ruled by CITIZENS, no subjects yet... for how long it will last.. I really don't know..

I would never have thought... very cool and informative for those of us who have never been to Switzerland!

Well that is no good for when the zombies come...nothing worse than a ticked off, burning zombie. But what a great conversation piece!

Nice to see the various SIG 55X series rifles....

My SIG P225, and a brand new cleaning kit for my friends SIG551, in Tejas !

more pics of the SIG (nothing special, but I sold a glock 19 22lr advantage Amrs to buy AR accessories, and I didnt want my gun ratio to drop, so i bought that compact SiG at a cool price. )

"...legally sold, functionning. no permit required..." Not much good if you can't get the napalm. Historically more dangerous to the user than the recipient too.
The prices in Euros or Swiss Francs? Just curious.

That does it, does anybody know how hard it is to learn Swiss or whatever the most prevalent language is over there? Shania Twain and guns, I'm in.

Seriously, the sweetest pictures were the racks of Garands and M1 carbines.

Thanks to the OP.

Thank you very much for the pictures! Very nice.

I was wondering if you could tell us about the AK rifles on the wall- full auto v. semi-auto? Price in USD?

Nice to see the flamethrower too. Those are actually unregulated in the USA also, at least under fed law.

Nah, i am not member of the SIG556 forum (yet), but I bet my Texas friend could be.. Feel free to post those pictures out there and copy the text, if you whish to !

for the cleaning kit, I bought this new one for 35$ .. they were a lot of them. If you guys at the SiG556 forum want some, I could arrange a group order and ship them to the USA.. i have paypal . People on AR15.com know me, i have bought and sold things over there in the past. If I can help, just let me know.

In Switzerland the most common AK we get are from Cugir, Arsenal, Saiga, FEG etc, and sometimes even real russian models..

Generally full auto's are the same price as the semi only, and sometimes fulls are even cheaper.

Count 650$ for the cheapest Cugir, to 1200$ for the most expensive Bulgarian or Hungary models.. For russians, you sometimes pay a little bit more.

Yesterday, my friend Snake Doctor was lucky enough to get a nice Russian AKSU (Tula) for around 1200$ .

here is the picture he quickly made yesterday night. I had it in my hands during the gunshow. A fine gun !

he got the Makarov (russian as well) last week for less 400$

As an ak fan.... wow....

I heard there was a new Swiss law requiring a person buy an expensive permit to shoot a machine gun for one day- true?

true, but not very new. since 1999. full auto are exepensive to shoot (even in semi mode), and most often they are collection safe queens. I explained it on another board :

Quote:
About full autos.

They are classified as FORBIDDEN... but you can still legally buy and own them with a special permit/tax of 150$ . For collection and eventual shooting.

You are legally not allowed to shoot them (not even in semi position) unless you ask for a daily permit, which cost another 100$, each time you do so.

Actually, they are safe queens. (but ready for the big S hitting the F )

my M4 Colt (DoD stamped, on a M16A1 lower), is actually full auto.

When i want to shoot it, I just use one semi lower from another of my 3 other AR, with the Colt M4 upper..

The funny thing is that full auto are often, less exepensive than semi versions... just because people want to shoot freely, and don't want fulls.

I payed my M4 Colt 1700$, when i paid my Semi M4 SDI clone, 2100$ ...

Nice photos!

Every time I have someone tell me that guns kill, I point out that crime in Swiss towns is about as low as can be...

Not many people are willing to mess with an armed populace..

I think if I had to move from Idaho, that the mountains in your backyard would be a good trade off.

Shung- couple of more questions, if you will.

Any restrictions on the import of semi or full auto rifles from other countries?

Is there any difference in restrictions on ownership of the SIG fully automatic rifles, rather than those from other countries?

Thanks!
