New pickup - Taurus PT845

I picked up a PT845 today - she's a beauty - can't wait to shoot her!

Here's some photos of it and the holster that I am re-using from my old XD45 Service, as well as mag holder for the XD45 mags. Fits like a glove!

If you're interested in reading my review of the holster and where to get it,

Nice. I saw the 800 series Taurus' not long after I bought my wife a 24/7 pro in 9mm. Methinks Taurus has been listening to their customer base, making a hammer fired version of their flagship semi

Also, I recommend Crossbreed for a holster; best of both worlds. http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/

I liked the one I handled, but my concern is does it take the 24/7 magazines (which are hard enough to find) or did they make a unique mag for it?

Not sure - I need to find someone who has a 24/7 in 45 and see if their mag fits... The base does look at bit different though - the 24/7 is flat, while this one has the pinky rest on it.

.....Standing by for the obligatory Why I'll Never Buy A Taurus posts!

Congrats on your purchase. By all means, let us know how it shoots! I'll probably be picking one up myself before too long. Just wish they'd make it in a compact version the size of the PT-145 Millennium Pro!

BTW, my 145 is still functioning perfectly, and resides on my night table even as I type this.

I just compared my OSS/24/7 mags to your photo. Yours has a square cutout on the front mine lack. Mine have rectangular cutouts on the side for the mag catch yours lack. So looks like they made it different . The base plates look the same.

Looks nice! Not enough to tempt me back to the darkside though.

Good luck, I am hoping you got one of their "not a lemony turd" pistols.

I took her out for the first time Sunday . I had a friend of mine with me and my son-in-law.

When I told my friend about it, the only way I could describe the gun was, "Imagine a polymer framed Beretta 92, with a 4 inch barrel that has a closed slide, and is chambered in 45 ACP."

Little did I know, this thing handles just like a Beretta 92 or 96 that is right out of the box.

I'm not a pro by any means, but I shot very well with this pistol!

Handled very very nicely. My friend who had his Beretta 96 with him took it from me and put a few mags through it - he was 100% in agreement, it felt just like his Beretta did right out of the box.

Here's a short YouTube video that I posted of me shooting at 7 yards and 50 feet. I bring the target in between mags. 1 mag at each distance.

Defintely worth looking into if you're in the market for a 45!
